Rehabilitation and maintenance of roads leading to Dhofar in preparation for the Khareef season

As part of the preparations to receive the Khareef Dhofar season 2024 AD, and to facilitate the tourist and economic movement during this period; The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, represented by the Directorate General of Roads and Land Transport, directed the maintenance of asphalt roads and the rehabilitation of all roads leading to Dhofar Governorate and making them more ready and fully prepared for the expected traffic movement during this season.

 

The main roads were cleaned of sand and dirt residues, and a number of guide signs were put in place for those coming from the border crossings. A number of equipment was also allocated for cleaning work on the (Adam - Haima - Thumrait) road and the (Mahout - Duqm - Al Jazer) road in the Al Wusta Governorate. The readiness of the diversions located on the (Adam - Haima) road in the Wilayat of Haima was confirmed.

 

 

The Directorate General of Roads and Land Transport in the Governorate of Dhofar also carried out maintenance work in preparation for the Khareef season, which included carrying out maintenance work on asphalt roads, putting in place a number of guide signs in the Wilayats of Salalah, Rakhyut, Taqah and Mirbat, and removing quicksand on the main road (Maqshan - Thumrait).
