The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology organizes a workshop on smart asphalt paving

 The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, represented by the Monitoring and Control Department of the Directorate General of Roads and Land Transport, organized a workshop on smart asphalt paving at the Intercity Hotel - Muscat, in the presence of a number of specialists from government agencies and companies, Engineering consultancy and road construction contracting companies.
 
 The workshop aims to review the latest technologies used in the field of advanced asphalt paving to enhance the efficiency of the road network in the Sultanate of Oman and the importance of adopting modern technologies to improve the quality of road infrastructure. It also aims to enhance sustainability in the building and construction sector. 
 
The workshop included a visual presentation to introduce smart asphalt paving technology and its most important applications in the field of automated paving levelling system Super-Ski and advanced Intelligent compaction of asphalt in road projects to avoid over/under compaction and to ensure the highest levels of quality and smoothness required according to standards and technical specifications. 
 
The episode also included a set of technical details of the technologies, its advantages and benefits, and examples of its applications around the world and in the Arabian Gulf region. It also included a presentation of how to operate the technologies.
 
 It is noteworthy that the automation of road paving equipment contributes to increasing efficiency and reducing the time spent in paving operations, as automated-controlled equipment can work faster, and more accurately, which contributes to reducing labor costs, increasing project productivity and avoiding human errors. In addition, automation offers additional advantages. Such as reducing waste, using resources more efficiently, and reducing exposure to risks and accidents in the work environment.
